2018 brings with it fresh opportunities, a fresh start and time to plan for the year ahead. I think it’s fair to say that there’s a certain amount of uncertainty when it comes to both the financial and political systems of our country. The dark cloud of Brexit still looms large on the horizon, with equally optimistic and pessimistic forecasts on the outcome ahead, so it’s not hard to see why confusion is commonplace.
Musings and thoughts from behind the property desk...
For most people their home is their most valuable asset, so it’s vitally important when instructing an estate agent to make the right choice. There are certain things that one should look for in an estate agent; competitive fees, the standard of their marketing, advertising on major portals, and the length of contract, for instance, but it is unlikely that you will instruct your agent on the back of their vacuum cleaning ability or, indeed, lack thereof.
The face of estate agency is ever changing. I remember when I first started my career in the industry, one of the unique selling points of the agency for which I worked was producing full colour property brochures! Some agents used a black and white photocopier for the details then stuck a colour photo on the front, after developing the 35mm film from Boots.
